 Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a therapy session take?

Initial consultations are always longer as I will ask for your horse's case history and ask to see him in motion. Sessions generally last for anything between one hour and an hour and a half.

Will I notice a difference in my horse?

Sometimes an improvement is noticeable straightaway, but sometimes several sessions may be required. You must remember that unless due to a specific trauma, soft tissue problems are usually cumulative and have taken some time to develop.

Does my vet need to know?

Yes, this is compulsory, especially if there is a known pathology or the horse is taking any kind of medication. All it takes is a quick phone call.

How long will I have to wait before exercising my horse?

After massage and passive stretching, it is actually beneficial for the horse to do some light exercise. Going out on a short hack, or schooling in big circles, is fine unless there has been a saddle fitting issue where handwalking would be more appropriate.

How often does my horse need to have body work?

As a preventative maintenance, I would recommend a monthly treatment unless the horse is in hard work when fortnightly would be more beneficial.
